The Pastizzi Project, launched in 2017, aims to make contemporary art in Malta more accessible and relatable to all social groups. It uses the iconic Maltese pastizz as a medium to explore contemporary identity and social themes through sculptural satire. The project highlights cultural identity, the impact of Western dietary habits on health, and the rise of conspicuous consumption. Ultimately, it serves as a satirical commentary on both local and global issues.
