MICAS opened its doors to the public in late 2024, strengthening Malta’s cultural infrastructure with a platform for contemporary art and internationalisation.
MICAS aims to positively energise Malta’s cultural ecology and impact that of the Euro-Mediterranean region it inhabits. The MICAS mission is to be an advocate of contemporary art by raising public awareness to the significance of the visual arts in contemporary life, and by bringing to the forefront the way art and artists help mediate and interpret the world we live in.
MICAS is a Government of Malta infrastructural legacy project for the Culture and the Arts sector.
Required Services:
MICAS is inviting applications from suitable candidates to perform duties of Office Attendant (Retail) as cited below. This post is on a part-time basis and is subject to a probational period of six (6) months.
The selected applicant will report to the Manager (Retail), the Financial Controller and the Chief Executive Officer. S/he will be required to assist the Manager (Retail) in the MICAS Galleries Gift Shop, serve customers, sort merchandise and process sales transactions; monitor the activities of customers in the shop, and also resolve their issues.

The work schedule is on a shift basis up to a maximum of thirty (30) hours per week. The selected applicant will also be required to work during evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Additional working hours may be necessary to meet the requirements of this job position, especially during MICAS’s events. The responsibilities and required interactions of this position are not conducive to remote work.
The salary attached to the post of Office Attendant (Retail) is €14,197.50 per annum as per Grade 8 within the Public Cultural Organisations Grading. The salary raises annually by €317 up to a maximum of €15,624 per annum.
Eligible applicants will be interviewed by a Selection Board to assess their suitability to carry out the duties mentioned above.

Original certificates and/or testimonials are to be invariably produced for verification at the interview.
Public Service/Sector employees must present records for their paid leave, unpaid leave, and sick leave for the past four (4) years. Additionally, they must also submit any records of disciplinary actions taken against them. If the applicant does not submit such records, it will be assumed that no disciplinary action was ever taken.
