Jean-Paul De Lucca huwa professur assoċjat tal-Filosofija l-Università ta’ Malta, fejn qabel kien waqqaf iċ-Ċentru għall-Arti Liberali u x-Xjenzi u serva bħala l-ewwel direttur tiegħu, kif ukoll kien il-kap tad-Dipartiment tal-Filosofija. L-oqsma tal-għarfien espert tiegħu huma il-filosofija u l-istorja intellettwali tal-perjodu modern bikri, il-filosofija tal-liġi, u l-filosofija politika. Kien riċerkatur l-Università Roma Tre u Frances Yates Fellow fl-Istorja Intellettwali u Kulturali l-Warburg Institute (University of London). Aktar tard dis-sena, se jingħaqad mal-Istitut tal-Filosofija tal-Università KU Leuven bħala fellow viżitatur mistieden.
